Garland

Garlands made of wool from Ellie’s flock, hand felted and hand dyed by Ellie. The yarn is handspun by Ellie.

The garlands are approximately 10’ in length and each contain 10-12 flowers. They are presented in a gift box.

A personal story lies behind these garlands. During the winter I suffered a shocking and traumatic bereavement. In order to get through the days, each day, for six weeks, I sat alone in my workshop and made garlands for the coffin and funeral. When it was over, I was still completely lost and found that continuing to make garlands was the only way I could find to get through each day. The original funeral garlands - my ‘Grief Garlands’ - will always remain here with me, but this a selection of some of those made over the subsequent months.
